7th/8th Grade Ongoing Language Arts (Reading Comprehension and Writing)

Reading, vocabulary, fluency, and writing at the 7th and 8th grade levels will be the focus of this continuing full-curriculum program.
A new skill, like making good use of context clues, will be their weekly focus. Participants will get reading and/or writing instruction, have many opportunities to practice the skill (using handouts, verbal discussion, chat, annotation, games, etc.), and then reflect on what they have learned.
I will demonstrate effective reading strategies and provide students frequent, constructive criticism as they work to improve their reading and writing abilities in my role as a teacher. In my classes, I want to use comedy and interesting readings to pique students’ interest and keep them engaged as they build on skill sets. Since the skills covered are independent of one another, students are free to enroll or withdraw from the course whenever they like. Your child will thrive in this class and have the opportunity to expand their understanding of language arts with their peers no matter where they start.
Writing the IEW Way: A Semester Long Writing Course for Reluctant Writers

An accredited IEW instructor leads this multi-day writing session, which incorporates weekly writing assignments to reinforce classroom learning. For students who struggle to put pen to paper or who just don’t seem to have the inspiration to start, this is an excellent class to help them develop their writing abilities, regardless of whether they have taken an IEW class before or not. It gives students a clear framework and strategy for writing that helps them know what to write and how to write it, which in turn helps them improve their writing.
Writers will be exposed to a new lesson every week, which focuses on style. Learners will practice outlining their writing and jotting down ideas in the first class of the week using key words. This is laying the groundwork for students’ future writing, or the STRUCTURE of writing. In the second class of the week, rgwt’ll talk about writing style. They’ll go over some sentence starters and dress up words like powerful verbs, ly adverbs, quality adjectives, and more. These will help students add variety and appeal to their work. By the conclusion of the week, students will have mastered the skills they covered in class and will be able to apply them to write their own paragraphs for homework (or in class if time permits).
2nd Grade Homeschool Full Curriculum

In this four-part course, your second-grader will learn all the subjects covered in a small-group environment: math, science, language arts, social studies, and computer applications.
You can enroll and pay for one of four sections. Subscribers to Part 1 can save 10% on Part 2 if they also purchase Part 1. Subscribers to Part 2 can save 15% on Part 3. Subscribers to parts 1–3 can save 20% on parts 4 when they purchase all four at once.
This comprehensive program covers the second grade common core standards and is taught by licensed instructors.
This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to make friends, have a stable instructor, and participate in a yearlong classroom community.
In appreciation for their multi-week course commitment, Seed and Stem provides Multi-Day customers with additional benefits, such as:
