Are you looking to save money on visiting restaurants, watching movies or for days out? Well, there are several membership schemes that claim to help reduce the cost. But is the price of membership worth paying? Take a look to see if Tastecard review to see why this is a card you shouldn’t ignore.
You may find advertising links in a few of the posts here. It’s possible that if you click on them, I’ll get a commission that will go toward maintaining this site. It’s true that I can make money as an Amazon Associate. None of this changes the way I rate things.
You may probably tell from the name of this website that I’m interested in frugal living. The good news is that there is no shortage of options for doing so. To find it, you just need to know where to look.
Going out to do anything enjoyable as a family of five is now prohibitively expensive. Kids’ meals just aren’t cutting it anymore now that my kids are older. Unfortunately, they are no longer entitled to free admission to most parks. So, rather of just leaving them at home (which is an appealing option), I am constantly on the lookout for better discounts.
And what better way to do it than with a card that gets you tonnes of deals where you get two for the price of one?
What is a Tastecard?
You may save 50% or more at thousands of restaurants around the UK with a Tastecard, a subscription programme that offers discounts of up to 2 for 1. There are also deals to be had on things like attraction tickets, meal delivery, and even movie streaming. Monthly, 6-month, and annual subscriptions are available.
What reductions can be expected to be applied?
Discounts on the following are available to Tastecard members:
- Two for one deals or fifty percent off menus.
- Get a minimum 10% discount when using the Tastecard app to order food for delivery.
- There is a discount of up to 33% on all movie purchases, including both online streaming and in-theater admission.
- Delivering pizza
- Take advantage of discounts of up to half off at area attractions
How does Tastecard work?
When you join, you’ll be prompted to download a mobile app that will serve as your primary interface with the organisation and provide you with immediate access to your funds.
If you want to do something like go out to eat, see a movie, order pizza, etc., all you have to do is input your zip code. When you click that button, a complete catalogue of discounts will be presented to you.
When it comes time to pay for your meal, just pull up your Tastecard in the app on your phone and display it to the server. You should call beforehand to make sure the restaurant will honour the offer, though, as some places have strict guidelines.
For movie theatre admission or online streaming, use the Tastecard app or website to purchase ecodes. To use these codes, just head on over to the service provider’s website. Vue, Cineworld, and Odeon are just few of the theatres that you can visit, and Rakuten offers movie streaming as well.
You can save money on outings if you buy tickets online in advance. Thorpe Park, Chessington, Alton Towers, and Legoland are among the attractions available.
Where can you use the Tastecard and what restaurants do you accept it at?
There will be a shift in the participating restaurants for Tastecard discounts. Not only will you find plenty of mom-and-pop establishments giving discounts of 50% or more, but you’ll also find several national brands. Deals are available from: at the time of this writing.
- Domino’s Pizza
- Pizza Hut
- Zizzi
- Prezzo
- Bella Italia
- Tiger Tiger
What is the price of becoming a member?
If you sign up for a 30-day free trial, your subscription will be renewed at the regular price of £5.99 per month. You have the option to stop at any moment.
Alternately, you can pay £19.99 for 6 months, or £3.33 each month. Alternatively, you may save money by signing up for a yearly subscription for £34.99, which works out to just $2.92 per month.
Important to note
It’s vital to read the fine print before placing an order at a restaurant because specials often come with restrictions. On weekends, for instance, you might not be able to use a coupon you’ve been given.
It’s possible that you won’t be able to take advantage of perks like cheap movie tickets with a Tastecard if you qualify for one of the free Tastecard programmes I describe below. You’ll need to pay Tastecard+’s nominal monthly cost to access these features.
Don’t forget that your Tastecard membership will be renewed automatically. Don’t keep paying for something you aren’t using? Cancel that subscription! If you do not cancel your payments immediately, you will be charged indefinitely.
Where to look for a no-cost Tastecard
The Tastecard can be obtained for no cost in two different methods. To clarify, “free” usually means that it comes as part of a larger subscription plan. If you already have a subscription to one of these publications, however, you should read it.
Free trial
New members can try out the service risk-free for 30 days to see if it meets their needs.
RBS and NatWest
A Tastecard can be yours for free if you have a Silver, Platinum, Student, or Graduate checking account with RBS or NatWest. You can get further information by going to either NatWest or RBS.
The opinions of others
When composing my reviews, I frequently refer to the feedback of others. Tastecard has an average Trustpilot rating of 3.7 out of 5. Tastecard has received mostly positive feedback, with customers praising the company’s responsiveness to their inquiries and the value they receive for their money. Most of the complaints seem to originate from customers whose subscriptions were renewed without their permission and who then had trouble getting their money back.
So, is Tastecard worth it?
You are the only one who can answer that question because of your individual routines. Your investment may be quickly recouped, even if you just use it once every few months, if any of the featured restaurants are ones you usually frequent.
Tastecard may only save you £1 or £2 per ticket, but those savings add up quickly if you frequently visit the movies.
If you want to try Tastecard risk-free for a month, just click the link below. You can have a look around to see what deals are available in your area, and if you don’t like what you see, you can cancel at no cost to you.
