George and Mike Heaton started their high-end British business, Represent, in 2011. What people wear is a reflection of the level of work they put in, the level of improvement they accomplish, and the level of advancement they make. It took a lot of time and effort to develop and make each piece; the meticulous attention to detail shows in every detail of the collection, from the silhouettes to the garments themselves.
Establishing the most prestigious brand currently available anywhere in the world is a simple goal.George Heaton’s inspiration for the student project Represent came from the idea that he could make money by selling prints of his paintings on clothing. At first, he would get blank garments from nearby retailers and screen print his designs onto them. After randomly choosing fifteen names from a sheet of paper, the phrase “Representing” was determined to be the best fit. At that point in time, George’s friend advised him to stop prefixing his words with “-ing,” and the rest is, well, history. Achieved the status quo.
